W. Stewart Brooks, AcuityCFO
Managing Partner and Founder
As the Managing Partner of AcuityCFO, Stewart is responsible for setting strategy and facilitating growth for the firm. He advises clients in all aspects of financial and operational strategy and best practices.
Stewart has broad financial experience with companies ranging in revenues from $3 million to $1.5 billion. Drawing on that experience, Stewart founded a small CFO services firm in 2001 that evolved into AcuityCFO by meeting the financial services needs of numerous small and mid-market companies throughout Georgia. Previously, Stewart spent five years as the chief financial officer for an Inc 500 technology services organization. His experience also includes leadership roles with two leading healthcare organizations, handling a broad array of financial responsibilities including ground-up development of finance departments, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury management, financial third-party relationships and risk management.
Since founding AcuityCFO, Stewart has been CFO of numerous early and growth stage businesses throughout Georgia, working heavily in technology services, software, transportation, real estate and manufacturing. During this time, he has provided leadership in debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ERP implementations, and other strategic initiatives.
A native of Atlanta, Stewart is active in numerous local and national organizations including the Technology Executives Roundtable, the Georgia Entrepreneurs Society, the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Vistage International and All Saints Catholic Church. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia. Stewart also holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from Georgia State University.
